Plant-based foods have a strong position among Czech consumers. The country is at the top of Europe for the number of restaurants with plant-based options on their menus and a third of the population says they want to increase their consumption of plant-based food and drink.
“The collaboration with Green Heads is in line with our strategy to establish the DUG brand as a player with high quality and a wide range of next generation plant-based foods. The presence we are now establishing with distributors in the various markets we are entering must follow our criteria of being present in the Horeca channel (restaurants, hotels and catering), the Coffee channel (cafes and roasteries), Online (B2B and B2C) as well as the Health food channel and Retail. In Green Heads, we get a committed partner in two countries with a total of about 16 million inhabitants, and many of them want to eat healthy and have more genuine vegetarian options,” says Helene Nielsen, CEO of Veg of Lund.
“Green Heads started in 2018 with the business mission to bring new, healthier and interesting products to the Czech and Slovak market. We have good growth and among our customers there is a stable base of customers within the Horeca and Coffee channels. We have now received our first listings with Rohlik.cz and sell on our own platform Greenheads.cz and the work to launch DUG is underway,” says Tomáš Kofroň, Head of Sales, Green Heads.
In line with Veg of Lund’s strategy for the Coffee channel, Green Heads – as one of the main sponsors – presented DUG at the Prague Coffee Festival last weekend.
